The Absolute Software Theft Recovery Team recovers thousands of computers annually. Our team is staffed by former police officers and seasoned law enforcement professionals who have spent years building relationships with police and security agencies throughout North America, EMEA and Australia.
If a computer protected by Computrace® is stolen, the Theft Recovery Team works with local authorities to obtain subpoenas and warrants – and get the asset back. Knowing how law enforcement works has helped Absolute achieve the highest recovery rate in the industry.

The Absolute Recovery team has combined policing experience in excess of 650 years.
Testimonial from Law Enforcement
"In our county, most of the theft that occurs during daytime hours is laptop theft. Therefore, I spend much of my time proactively informing businesses on how to thwart the theft of laptop computers. I always recommend Absolute's Computrace. It's a great PC theft recovery tool for anyone who values their laptops, as well as for law enforcement because it just makes our jobs that much easier."

Brass Tacks: What We Do
The Theft Recovery Team provides police officers and investigators with a theft report fact sheet that includes crucial information on a lost computer: its owner, recent calls it made to the Absolute Monitoring Center, its last known location, and just about everything investigators need to get a subpoena or search warrant and locate the thieves. We provide the evidence and the paperwork, enabling law enforcement to perform the physical recovery of the stolen asset. The stolen computer is returned to the owner directly, no further involvement beyond reporting the theft is ever required.
